AJF 4 Bred

In a pretty interesting change of pace, Nike has made a significant design change to the latest Air Jordan Force, the AJF 4 Black/Varsity Red-Cement Grey scheduled for a September release. While the original sample sported a comparatively-simple upper with no plastic cage on the side panel and a now-absent white midsole, the new production pair again has the cage just like the Air Jordan 4 and it also has a (drum roll) … transparent midsole. Nutty. I’m kind of feeling the original pictures we saw, but this definitely looks more like an Air Jordan 4; stays truer to the original.

Air Jordan Dub Zero - Black - White - Laser Blue

To the delight of many Jordan-heads, the Dub Zero has been making a return this year in a number of new colorways. With all the Fusion models and Jordan mash-ups floating around right now, it’s only right to bring back the shoe that first started the trend. We showed you a look at these back in March as part of our summer ‘09 Dub Zero preview, and now with the release date approaching, we get a better look at this slick new colorway. The shoe features a black patent leather upper with Laser Blue accents and white graphics printed on the mid section.

Motorola W7 Active Edition Now Official

Remember the Motorola W7 that we mentioned back in April? Now the phone is finally official and will be available before the end of June, in two color versions: Alpine White and Licorice. In case you missed it, here’s a brief reminder, this sports-oriented handset is officially known as the MOTO W7 Active Edition and it offers a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 2MP camera, a secondary VGA camera, a 30MB of internal memory, a microSDHC card slot (up to 8GB), a music player, an FM radio and Stereo Bluetooth. Not to mention, the phone also comes with a Personal Trainer application, a built-in step pedometer as well as an accelerometer.

Lance Armstrong x Nike Air Max 90 LIVESTRONG LAF

Here’s another release from Lance Armstrong’s impressive ‘Stages’ Collection for Nike. The Nike Air Max 90 LIVESTRONG LAF appears above in the colours you’d expect, black and yellow, plus a little white and grey thrown in to balance the shoe for everyday use. They feature the signature yellow ‘LIVESTRONG’ strip on the tongue tag and insole and a speckled midsole. Like all ‘Stages’ relaeses, proceeds from the sale of this pair will benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation in its fight to against cancer.

Japan To Install 3.9G Network Infrastructure

Japan will have the most advanced cell phone infrastructure in the world because four major Japanese cell phone carriers (NTT, KDDI, SoftBank and Emobile) will invest a total of $10 billion into 3.9-generation cell phone services. FYI, the 3.9G infrastructure is comparable with fiber-optic networks. Japan will begin install the new infrastructure in the early 2010s, with the carriers will use the existing 3G networks as much as possible to keep overall costs down. Japan’s biggest cell phone carrier NTT has plan to launch 3.9G services early next year, followed by the other companies in fiscal 2011 and 2012.

Winner — ‘In Electric Mist’ Stars Tommy Lee Jones

I just finished watching In The Electric Mist, which is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray, based on the bestselling novel by James Lee Burke. In the Electric Mist features Tommy Lee Jones leading a talented cast through the Louisiana bayou and the New Orleans criminal underground investigating a series of horrific murders while uncovering long forgotten secrets of the prejudice south.Jones plays veteran detective Dave Robicheaux, Dirty Harry hunts down a serial killer in the Deep South. Although the story line has obvious plot turns, I was engaged throughout the film. John Goodman is fun to watch as he plays a greasy, no-good-son-of-a…remarkably well. One of my favorite actresses, Mary Steenburgen, which we hardly ever see in films, effortlessly and smoothly plays Robicheaux’s wife, who draws out the kinder side of Jone’s character and you forget about Dirty Harry similarities.

Lupe Fiasco Converse All-Stars …

you know, Chuck Taylors. As part of the (PRODUCT) RED campaign to eliminate AIDS in Africa, Lupe Fiasco and Dr. Romanelli go together to create a very unique Converse All-Star. The shoe looks like the traditional Chuck Taylor, except rather than canvas the upper is completely patent leather, and the usually-black line is red, as is the outsole. Even the iconic “Converse All-Star” badge on the ankle is just impressioned into the patent leather.
David Z stores and DavidZ.com have the Lupe Fiasco Converse All-Star now for $100. A bit steep for All-Stars, but the patent leather and good cause give you a nice excuse to splurge. And these things will break necks. I was at Urban Outfitter the other day debating the wearability of leather All-Stars. These patent leather joints put them to shame.

Low AJF 9 Black/Varsity Red-White

I’ve expressed my disdain for most AJF hybrids, as well as my indifference toward the Air Jordan 9, so this is going to sound pretty strange: The AJF 9 Black/Varsity Red-White Low is actually pretty rad. It looks a bit more like the Air Force 1, silhouette-wise, than the usual AJF’s, but still maintains some Air Jordan flair and style while looking a lot more cohesive than the Air Jordan 9 (or AJF 9 for that matter). I don’t really feel all-blacks, so I’m hoping this is the first of a few different colorways.

Nike Auto Flight High

Yet another hybrid is coming out of Beaverton, this one scheduled for a late 2009 release. While I’m not sure if they’re billing this as a fusion, the Nike Auto Flight High takes the upper from an Air Flight Lite High and the sole from the Nike Blazer to create a … slightly different shoe. Honestly, it’s pretty much the same as the Air Flight Lite, although I guess the sole is a pretty noteworthy feature on that particular shoe, so the Blazer sole makes something of a difference. Anyway, the shoe comes in a black upper with red accents and a white midsole. Anyway, yeah the Nike Auto Flight High drops during the holiday season; of course the Nike Air Flight Lite High is out now for like $80, so if one were so inclined they could just grab a pair or two of those. Dunk Low CL Brown/Pink and Black/Electrolime

So I’ve always been a little on the fence about Dunks and I wasn’t sure why. After looking at these pretty tight Dunk Low CL’s in baroque brown/pink-white and black/electorlime-white I realize that it’s that damn off-color outsole that creeps half way up the white midsole. Both of these have a solid white sole unit and look super nice. They’re available now at TheGoodWillOut.com or NikeStore.com, although it looks like the blacks are already sold out at Nikestore. Air Toki TZ

Couple of months ago Nike dropped a limited release of a very unique new shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Toki Lux, a sort of Vans Chukka-like silhouette in a perforated leather upper. Needless to say it sold quite well. Well next up in the same vein, is the Nike Air Toki Tier Zero. The Air Toki TZ keeps the same silhouette as the Lux model, however it uses a solid colored canvas for the upper, rather than leather. The Toki TZ comes in a soft, almost-pastel yellow and a blueish-grey. While I’m assuming there’s a US Tier Zero release in the near future, at the moment these are available at Atmos-Tokyo.

Nike Air Yeezy - Pink - Black - Standard Atlanta Release Recap

Atlanta’s own Standard made the most of Saturday’s release of the delicious new pink/black Nike Air Yeezy. With campers setting up temporary residence for up to five days prior outside the Peachtree location, the Standard folks added some meat to the event; literally. They invited the folks who they’d seen day after day to come inside and enjoy a nice breakfast, complete with an Air Yeezy desert. Despite the fact that beautiful weather of late made the wait a bit easier, this is easily one of the friendlier and more creative ways to commemorate the release that we’ve seen. Motorola Clutch i465 Now Official, Headed To Boost mobile

Motorola has officially announced its latest candybar phone namely the Motorola Clutch i465, which will be available in the US via Boost Mobile sometime this quarter or in June the latest. This new handset features military-tough durability and offers a 1.79-inch TFT display with 64k colors and 128 x 160 resolution, a VGA camera, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 20MB of internal memory, push-to-talk capability, threaded messaging, MMS, email and Bluetooth connectivity.

iPhone Application to Avoid Swine Flu

IntuApps is a new iPhone application that can show you the current threat level for the disease, a map showing confirmed and suspected areas, a symptoms area to inform people and even an alert page for breaking news on swine flu. For your info, this application is pending approval from Apple. It’s good to know that IntuApps will be giving the app away for free when it is available in the App Store.

Zoom LeBron VI Low White/White-Medium Grey

I suppose we knew this would have to happen eventually. There are only so many color combinations possible and they’ve used all of them on the Zoom LeBron VI, so inevitably they’d have to make a low to keep things different. First there was the white/red LeBron VI Low and now a Zoom LeBron Low White/White-Medium Grey has popped up, apparently scheduled for a May 6th release. While that first white/red LeBron VI Low was extremely iffy because it had the God forsaken red midsole, but this white Zoom LeBron VI low looks pretty fly, basically because it’s a simple colorway, relatively all-purpose. I kind of think there should be a little more color mixed in, but I’m sure those are soon-to-come.

First Android Samsung Phone

The i7500 might be the first Android-powered cell phone from Korean giant Samsung. According to rumors, the Samsung i7500 will be released in Germany in June on an exclusive agreement with O2. This fully touchscreen-capable device is powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with HVGA (480 x 320) resolution, GPS navigation, a 5MP camera with LED flash, an 8GB internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

FCC Approved Nokia 8208 CDMA Dual Slider

The Nokia 8208 has been approved by the FCC. The CDMA phone was announced earlier this year. It features a dual-slide form factor, and supports MP3 music player, 3MP camera with 6X digital zoom and video recorder, and 150MB internal storage with 16GB microSD card support. Its battery provides 20 hours of continuous music playback.

The Vans Vault collection has produced hit after hit since being introduced a few years ago, so we have lofty expectations for their latest sub-label. Nike Skateboarding (SB) - May 2009 Releases

The May 2009 lineup from Nike SB is one of the strongest we’ve seen in a long time. Among the big hits here are the ‘Band Aid’-like Dunk Low Pros along with another lowtop Dunk in grey, blue, black and orange. The assortment of Dunks is rounded out with a pair of Mids perfect for Laker fans. While Dunks might be the most successful SB shoe, the new (and last) pair of P-Rod IIs in a Supreme-like colourway might be the most pleasing out of the entire bunch. Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 Low - Black - Mean Green

In general, many of Nike’s latest Air Force 1 models have taken a back-to-basics approach, using simple white uppers with minimal accents. This model, however, has chosen to liven things back up a little with some bright eye-grabbing color. You may have seen the Air Force 1 x Huarache that also features a similar color scheme, but these switch up the color blocking a bit. The shoe uses a simple black leather upper with a white midsole, lining and laces. Vibrant Mean Green accents on the Swoosh and outsole provide strong contrast against the black/white base and hints of royal blue can be found on the tongue label and the midsole “AIR” logo. Like the Air Max Light that we showed you earlier, this colorway is a JDsports exclusive, so don’t hesitate because that’s the only place you’ll find them.

Nike x Manny Pacquiao - Flywire Air Trainer 1

As the world’s current best pound for pound boxer prepares for his next bout on May 2nd, sneaker lovers should also be preparing for the release of a special shoe between him, Manny Pacquiao, and Nike. Pacquiao a Nike sponsored athlete, collaborated with the brand on a newly designer Air Trainer 1 in a White, Varsity Red, and Gold colorway that features his logo on the heel. The Air Trainer 1 is a new Cross Training shoe designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. Manny and his friends and family were given 100 pairs by Nike while the other 100 in existence will be sold at Niketown San Francisco and Las Vegas, UNDFTD Las Vegas, and Fatlace (San Francisco). The shoes will be released on Saturday, May 2nd, the same day as Pacquiao’s fight with Ricky Hatton. If you are worried that you won’t be able to get a pair of these shoes, a number of different Nike x Manny Pacquiao t-shirts are available now at select retailers in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Supra Vaider - Burgendy - Fall 2009

Seems like Supra puts out new Vaiders in bunches, and here’s another model set to drop this fall. The Supra Vaider appears here in a tonal burgendy construction that combines suede, patent leather and mesh. The patent underlay features the Vaider’s signature perf pattern while a white midsole and tongue tag balance out the deep red hues. Vans Vault Perforated Pack - May 2009

Fresh off another new pack yesterday, let’s examine one more trio being stored in the Vans Vault for a May 2009 release. The Vans Vault Perforated Pack is comprised of a Sk8-Hi, Authentic and Slip-On, all with the premium LX treatment. Each contrasts perforated black leather with white patent leather. A closer look reveals the same sapphire blue on the insoles and under the black, making for an Orlando Magic-like palette. You’ll be able to cop these at your local Vans Vault retailer next month.

Swagger x Nike Terminator High Supreme

We got a glimpse at these two weeks ago, and these new pictures give us a better idea of what to expect from this superstar collaboration. It’s clear from these new images that the Nike Terminator High Supreme Directed by Swagger is in fact one pair of shoes comprised of two different coloured kicks. Both rock a shiny faux-croc material, with teh left shoe in mohagany and the right in turquoise. These pics also show that the humongous lacelocks say ‘SWG’, as opposed to our first impression that suggested ‘SWAG’. Nike Terminator Low Supreme - White Heavy Metal Pack

Last year’s Rock N’ Roll Pack was a very creative concept and turned out to be a big hit. The black metal-studded Terminator and Vandal High models added some rocker edge to two Nike classics and now the theme is back, but this time in white leather. We have already shown you a preview of the white Vandal High model and now we give you a detailed look at the Terminator Low Supreme from the Heavy Metal pack. The shoe features a simple enough clean white color scheme with a combination of leather and mesh covering the upper, but it’s the metallic silver studs that really give these kicks some personality. The very-heavy metal studs can be found on the heel and and beneath the silver tongue label and are even used as a lace lock. This Terminator Low also sports some shiny silver eyelet holes and a Nike logo on the heel in the same AC/DC-like font that was seen on the Vandal. As an added touch, these head-turners also come with a guitar pick shaped hang tag that features the Nike logo on one side and “Terminator” in script on the other. T-Mobile Announces Sidekick LX

The 3G-enabled T-Mobile Sidekick LX is now officially announced with built-in support for the famous networking applications including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and GPS-enabled Live Search. The gadget comes with a 3.2-inch display screen (854×480), full QWERTY keyboard. a 3.2MP camera, LED flash, Bluetooth, Youtube viewer, and video uploader. Available in dark gray or maroon, the Sidekick LX will be available on May 13th, 2009 for $199.99 with 2-years service contract and mail-in-rebate.

Puma Terror King Stepper - Monster Pack

While he may not get the same love as Godzilla or King Kong, King Ghidorah has put in plenty of work himself, earning the title, “King of Terror.” It seems that the terrifying three-headed golden dragon-beast was intimidating enough that Puma knew better than to leave him out of their Monster Pack. This creative partnership of Smith and West’s talents as designers yielded a unique Nike Sportswear sneaker worth the wait. “Kanye is a truly creative talent,” said Smith. “He’s a natural designer-partnerships like this always enhance the creative experience and the end product.” West agrees that the partnership with Nike has been exciting. “Nike is such an important brand to me,” said West. “Whether you are on the court, in the street, in the club, at school, Nike represents excellence, the standard in design. Growing up, we looked forward to the release of new Nike’s the way we would an album by our favorite artist. So the opportunity to collaborate on a design with Mark Smith and Nike Design has been a dream come true, and a great experience.”

Air Jordan V - Defining Moments Pack II (DMP2) - ‘Raging Bull’ Detailed Photos

There’s little chance the timing on the previous leaks was coincidental, but who needs coincidence when your design is this good? For the third time in a week, we’ve received a clearer picture of what the Defining Moments Pack II (DMP2) Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’ edition looks like. Red suede with tonal stitching looks dope on the upper, but it’s actually a bit darker in person. Imagine something closer to the red Air Jordan XXI. A new twist we’ve not seen on AJ5s, the red-tipped teeth inspired by WWII-era Mustang fighter planes pay homage to the similarly hewn Chicago Bulls logo.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV - Think Pink

Back in January, we showed you Nike’s Think Pink pack, which featured solid pink colorways of the Hyperdunk and Blue Chip. The shoes were created in conjunction with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to raise money and awareness for the war on breast cancer. Sadly, Yow recently passed away after several bouts with the disease and now Nike is honoring her memory with another Think Pink model. This time, its the Nike Zoom Kobe IV that receives the Think Pink treatment. The shoe features a solid pink upper with minimal white highlights and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund logo on the heel. There is no word yet if these will be released for retail, but we will keep you posted. Nike Hyperize + Air Max Assault - Holiday 2009

Nike Basketball is killing it as usual, innovating in terms of style and function with each new release. Two of their upcoming models pay tribute to the Nike Basketball legacy by building off of classic designs. In the case of the Hyperize, which we have already previewed, the inspiration is from the Hyperdunk, which is not a very old sneaker, but definitely became an instant classic as soon as it first dropped a few years back. The other updated style is the Air Max Assault, which modernizes the original Air Assault design with an Air Max upgrade and some other minor tweaks. Both models will be available in three new colorways beginning in October and moving into the holiday season.
